Our commitment
ShamaTech is committed to making shama-tech.com accessible in all three of its languages. Our goal is for the website to meet the Israeli accessibility standard (IS 5568), which is based on the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.0 at level AA.
No formal conformance audit has been carried out, so we do not claim full conformance. This statement describes the current state of the website.
Accessibility features
The website is designed and built with accessibility in mind:
- Keyboard: every link, menu, button and form field can be used with a keyboard. A “Skip to main content” link appears on the first press of Tab, links, buttons and form fields show a visible focus indicator, and menus close with Escape and return focus to the button that opened them.
- Structure: each content page uses standard landmarks (header, navigation, main content and footer), a single main heading and an ordered heading structure, which screen readers can use for navigation.
- Languages: every page declares its language and reading direction. Hebrew and Arabic pages are fully right-to-left, and switching language keeps you on the same page.
- Forms: every field in the contact form has a visible label and required fields are marked. Errors in the required fields are described in text next to the field, a summary message is marked up as an alert so that screen readers can announce it, and focus moves to the first field that needs correcting.
- Images and diagrams: informative images and diagrams have text alternatives, and decorative graphics are hidden from screen readers.
- Zoom and screen sizes: the layout adapts to phones, tablets and desktops, and content remains available when the browser is zoomed to 200%.
- Motion: if your device is set to reduce motion, decorative animations are turned off. They can also be paused in the accessibility settings.
- Color: text and controls are designed for sufficient contrast, and a high-contrast display is available.
Accessibility settings
Select the accessibility button (marked with the accessibility icon) in the page header to open the settings panel. It can be reached and used with the keyboard. The panel lets you:
- Enlarge the text, up to 150%, and return it to its normal size.
- Switch to a high-contrast display.
- Underline all links.
- Show a stronger outline around the focused element.
- Pause decorative animations.
Your choices are saved only in this browser and apply on every page until you change them or select “Reset settings”. The panel does not collect or send any information.
Browser and device features
You can also use the accessibility features built into browsers and operating systems, instead of or together with the settings panel, such as browser zoom (Ctrl and + on Windows, Cmd and + on Mac), a larger default text size, high-contrast modes, reduce-motion settings and screen readers. Not all of these have been tested with the website; “How we checked” describes what was tested.
How we checked
We reviewed the website internally on . The review included automated accessibility testing of all pages of the website in each of the three languages (English, Hebrew and Arabic) at mobile and desktop widths; automated keyboard interaction checks of navigation, menus, the accessibility settings and the contact form; and checks at 200% zoom and on narrow screens.
The website has not been reviewed by an external accessibility expert, and it has not been tested with screen readers or other assistive technologies.
Known limitations
Despite our efforts, some parts of the website may not yet be fully accessible:
- Some technical terms and technology names appear in English on the Hebrew and Arabic pages, and screen readers may pronounce them with the page's language settings.
- The diagrams are simplified illustrations. Their text alternatives summarize them rather than describing every detail.
- The error page shown for addresses that do not exist is a simplified page, without the accessibility settings panel or the full page structure.
If you come across any other difficulty, please let us know.
