About this policy
This policy explains how ShamaTech (“we”) handles personal information when you visit shama-tech.com or contact us. ShamaTech is an Israeli software engineering practice, founded by Raja Shama, that builds custom AI systems and advanced software.
We are responsible for the information described in this policy. For any question about it, or about your information, write to us at contact@shama-tech.com.
Information we collect
When you use the contact form, we receive:
- Your full name and email address (required).
- Your company name and phone number, if you choose to provide them.
- The type of project and your project description (required).
- A budget, if you choose to mention one.
- The address of the page from which you sent the form.
If you email us directly, we receive your email address and whatever your message contains.
Like most websites, our web server automatically records each request in its access log, including your full IP address, the date and time, the page requested, the referring page and your browser's identification string. If a request causes an error, the server's error log also records your IP address.
To protect the contact form from abuse, the server limits how many times the form can be sent from the same IP address within any 60-minute period. To do this, it records attempts to send the form, each with the time and a code calculated from the IP address with a secret key (a keyed hash). The record does not contain the address itself, but the code is not anonymous: the same address always produces the same code, so with the key a record can be matched to a known address. How long these records are kept is explained under “How long we keep information”.
We don't ask for sensitive information. Please don't include details about health or other sensitive matters in your message unless your project requires it.
Cookies and information stored on your device
This website does not use cookies, analytics tools, advertising trackers or social media plugins.
Two preferences are saved in your browser's local storage so they apply on your next visit: the language you chose, and any accessibility settings you selected. They stay on your device and are never sent to us. You can remove them at any time by clearing your browser's data for this website.
How we use information
We use the information you send us to:
- Reply to your inquiry and answer your questions.
- Discuss and prepare a possible engagement, such as a proposal or an introductory call.
- Keep a record of our correspondence with you.
We use technical information to operate the website, keep it secure and prevent spam and abuse of the contact form.
Providing information is voluntary
You are not required by law to give us any information. To send the contact form, we need your name, email address, project type and a short project description; without them we cannot respond to your inquiry. Company, phone and budget are optional.
If you prefer not to use the form, you can email us directly at contact@shama-tech.com. You can also browse the website without entering any details, although technical information such as your IP address is still recorded automatically, as described above.
Who receives the information
The service providers that receive personal information as part of running the website and handling inquiries include:
- Hosting: the website, its server logs and the records used to limit repeated submissions are hosted by Amazon Web Services (AWS) on servers in the European Union (Stockholm, Sweden).
- Email: when the contact form is submitted, a notification containing the details you entered and the page you sent the form from is sent to our mailbox through Zoho's email delivery (SMTP) service. Notifications, and any email you send us directly, are stored by the provider that hosts the receiving mailbox.
- Fonts: the website's fonts are loaded from Google Fonts. When a page loads, your browser connects to Google's servers, which receive your IP address and basic browser information. Google's own privacy policy applies to that connection.
We may also disclose information if the law requires it, or where needed to protect our rights or the security of the website.
Storage outside Israel
Our hosting servers are located in the European Union, so the information stored on them, such as the server logs and the records used to limit repeated submissions, is held outside Israel. Our email providers, including Zoho, and Google may also process information in other countries as part of providing their services.
How we protect information
The website is served over an encrypted (HTTPS) connection. Contact-form submissions are stored in a database and, as notification emails, in our mailbox. We restrict access to them; for example, viewing submissions through the website's administration interface requires a secret access key. Passwords and keys are kept out of the website's code, and the contact form is protected by server-side validation, spam protection and a limit on repeated submissions.
No method of transmission or storage is completely secure; the measures we take are described above.
How long we keep information
We keep contact-form submissions and related emails to handle your inquiry and any business relationship that follows, and to meet our legal obligations. Submissions in our database are not deleted automatically.
A record used to limit repeated submissions counts toward the limit for 60 minutes. After that it is no longer used, and it is deleted automatically the next time a contact-form submission reaches the server, so if the form is not used for a while, records can remain on the server for longer than 60 minutes. How long web server logs are kept depends on the server's log-rotation settings.
You can ask us to delete your inquiry at any time, as described below.
Your rights
Under Israel's Privacy Protection Law, 5741-1981, you have the right to review the personal information we hold about you, and to ask us to correct or delete information that is inaccurate, incomplete, unclear or out of date.
You can also ask us at any time to delete your inquiry or to stop contacting you.
To make a request, write to contact@shama-tech.com. We may ask for details to confirm your identity before acting on a request, and we will respond within the time required by law. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may contact Israel's Privacy Protection Authority.
Children
This website is intended for businesses and adults. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when our practices or the law change. The date at the top of this page shows when it was last updated.
